El corredor Kui Song del equipo chino Merida se cae cuando recibe una bebida del auto asistente durante la sexta etapa del Tour del Lago Quinghai el 20/07/06. El frente de la bicicleta, su brazo y hombro son pasados por arriba por la rueda trasera del vehiculo, de milagro Song no sufrio heridas graves pero tuvo que abandonar la carrera.
